We are all called to be Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ out in the world. Your world may consist of your neighborhood and city or your school and playground. Wherever it is, God has called YOU out. He says through 1 Peter 2:9:
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
Bread of Life
Food insecurity is real and BUMC would like to help out!
An opportunity for us to reach out to our neighbors.
We invite you to join us in collecting nonperishable food items for our monthly food drive and food distribution to the community. As we are able, we would like to assist those who are feeling they could use some help in feeding their family.
Here’s the plan….
As God leads you – on any Sunday, please bring nonperishable food items to church.
On the last Saturday of the month – a team from the church will make up bags of food to be distributed to the community.
On the last Sunday of the month – we will be inviting folks from the community to drive thru the parking lot, open their trunk and receive 2 bags of groceries.
Our hope is that we will be able to continue this ministry monthly for as long as God directs us. The first several Sundays of each month, we will be collecting nonperishable food and on the last Sunday of the month, we will distribute it to the community.
More opportunities where you might choose to participate in this ministry are:
Write several notes of encouragement.
Draw a friendly picture and let someone know God loves them!
Make a financial donation, marked for Bread of Life Ministry.
Volunteer to sort food, bag food, shop for groceries, pray for this ministry.
Questions – please reach out to Darlene, firstname.lastname@example.org
